Whits v Teddington makes everyone S.A.D – a short story.
If anyone was in doubt about the existence of Seasonal Affective Depression (S.A.D) a trip to South Croydon on Saturday would have left you in no doubt. The fact it has taken me until Thursday to write this report speaks volumes about the level of therapy needed to get over the game.
Forwards may call is ‘one for the purists’, but normal people call it ‘rubbish’.
It was very wet, very windy, and by the end it was very dark. The scoreboard broke. The Veo broke. The successful lineouts in the game can be counted on one hand with fingers to spare.
Anyway, the Jazzers played down the slope with the category 5 behind them. JL kicked a penalty. 3-0. HT
Teddington actually scored two decent tries in the second half. 10-3.
The line “sometimes you’ve got the take a big step back to see the full picture” does exist, I’m told. I’m not sure it was written by, or meant for touch judges. Nonetheless, it was applied.
10-3. FT.
Up next, the Jazzers take a trip down memory lane to London Lavatory playing fields to play London Exiles, and the Wanderers have a local derby against Trinity.
